Privacy statement
Last updated: June 8 2026
Proofn ("Proofn", "we", "us") helps founders, freelancers and small businesses improve their SEO through concrete weekly tasks. We take your privacy seriously and only process personal data where it's necessary to deliver and improve our service. This statement explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what rights you have. It applies to proofn.marketing and the Proofn application (together, the "Service").
Proofn is established at Keizersgracht 123, 1015 CJ Amsterdam, the Netherlands. For any privacy question you can reach us at info@proofn.marketing. For the personal data described in this statement, Proofn acts as the data controller. For the SEO and analytics data we process on your behalf to run the Service, we act as a data processor — that processing is governed by our Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
When you create an account, start a trial or contact us, we process account and contact data such as your name, email address, company name and password, the content of messages you send us through the contact form or by email, and billing data needed to manage your subscription. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
The core of Proofn works by connecting, with your authorisation, to Google Search Console, Google Analytics (GA4) and Bing Webmaster Tools through their official APIs. With your permission we access SEO and website performance data such as impressions, clicks, average position, indexed pages, queries and the URLs of your site. We use this data solely to generate your weekly tasks and show your progress in your dashboard. We do not use data obtained through these APIs for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it except with the processors needed to run the Service. Proofn's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can disconnect any integration at any time in your account settings or by emailing info@proofn.marketing, after which we stop accessing that account and delete or anonymise the associated data within a reasonable period.
Like most online services, when you use the Service we automatically collect device and usage data, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, the pages and features you use, the tasks you complete, referring URLs and log data. We use cookies and similar technologies for this, as described in our Cookie Policy.
We use your data to provide the Service, generate your tasks and show your progress (performance of our contract with you); to operate the free trial and manage billing (contract and legal obligation); to secure the Service, prevent abuse and improve our product (legitimate interest); to respond to your questions (legitimate interest); and to send service messages or, where permitted, marketing, with an opt-out in every message (consent or legitimate interest).
We use functional cookies that are necessary for the site and app to work, and — with your consent — analytics cookies to understand and improve usage. You can manage your preferences via our cookie settings at any time. See our separate Cookie Policy for details.
To run Proofn we rely on processors such as hosting, analytics, email and payment providers, and on the Google and Microsoft APIs you choose to connect. We share only what is needed for these services to function, under appropriate data processing agreements. We do not sell your personal data. We may also disclose data where required to comply with a legal obligation or lawful request, to enforce our terms, or to protect our rights, users or the public. If Proofn is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your data may transfer to the successor entity, subject to this statement.
Some of our processors may be located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), for example in the United States. Where we transfer personal data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure your data remains protected.
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law — for example, invoices for statutory tax periods. When you close your account we delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, unless we are legally required to retain it.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise these rights by emailing info@proofn.marketing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Please keep your login credentials confidential.
We may update this statement from time to time. We will communicate material changes through the Service or by email and update the date above.
